Name three things you need to be emotionally fulfilled by your service and explain why.
- Acknowledgment – Serving my Master is more than doing just what he says. Learning his preferences and accommodating his desires – both inside and outside the bedroom – requires coming to an implicit understanding and initiating action without being told what to do. Hearing “I see what you did for me” acknowledges my initiative and confirms my ever increasing knowledge of what pleases him.
- Encouragement – While it is helpful to know what is not working, I crave to know what I’m doing right. I tend to fixate on what I did wrong; so when I’m pointed in the direction of what I did right, I will tend to stay on that track.
- Appreciation – A simple thank you is always nice. I also crave to know I made a difference. Expressing appreciation by referencing specifically what I did motivates me for future action. Expressing appreciation by referencing specifically what I did and how it made you feel sends my heart soaring.
